The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt a $538.1 million budget for the 2000-2001 fiscal year beginning on Oct. 1, 2000.
Included in the budget is $361 million for capital outlays, of which $160.2 million is for the next phase of the 375-acre Pier T container terminal, which will be leased to Hanjin Shipping Co. The terminal, on former Long Beach naval property, is expected toin spring of 2002.
Also included in the budget is $59 million of the next phase of the Pier S container terminal, north of the former naval complex on Terminal Island.
