Known for its large presence on the U.S. West Coast, Oakland, Calif.-based stevedoring and terminal operations company Marine Terminals Corp. is moving into Gulf Coast operations at the port of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Established in 1931 and operating in 22 ports from San Diego to Seattle, MTC was selected by the Corpus Christi port to handle its U.S. military discharge operations.
Not wasting any time, MTC has already handled a military operation at Corpus Christi: the discharge of the vessel Saudi Hofuf, which carried cargo belonging to units deployed in Rijeka, Croatia. Marine Terminals Corporation was the stevedore selected to handle the discharge operation. "This marks the first time Marine Terminals Corp. has worked in the Gulf of Mexico," according to David Adam, Chief Operating Officer for Marine Terminals Corp.
