A 420,000-square-foot warehouse in Bayonne, New Jersey, which includes refrigeration capability and an automobile processing facility, has been granted foreign trade zone status.
The port authority will now be able to reconfigure and expand Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 49. In addition, U.S. Customs approved the activation of FAPS, an automobile processing firm, which will be managed by Trade Zone Operations Inc. of Jersey City. FAPS can offer shippers of vehicles the opportunity to take advantage of trade zone benefits.
