| The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) will be holding its 22nd annual convention and trade show at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla. from Mar. 9-11, 2000.
Over 50 exhibiting companies will be on the trade show floor and TIA reports that over 400 registrants are expected to attend.
Theng session will feature speaker Lana Batts, president of the Truckload Carriers Association. Another portion of the convention takes place during TIA's six disciplinary conference meetings for: transportation brokers; international; perishable commodities; intermodal; motor carrier; logistics; and, freight forwarders. In addition, the convention will hold nine general education seminars with topics including: "Insurance and Risk Management issues," "Collections and Credit," and, "The Internet and E-Commerce."
The members of TIA include: intermodal marketing companies, international forwarders, NVOCCs, property brokers, domestic freight forwarders, air forwarders, perishable commodity brokers, and logistics management companies. TIA also provides management services for the American International Freight Association (AIFA), an organization of NVOCCs. AIFA is the U.S. representative of FIATA, an international organization of 40,000 freight forwarders.
